Nuneaton Borough Supporters’ Co-operative volunteer initiative has continued to make excellent progress with a number of jobs completed at the ground.
New volunteers are joining each week and it is great to see that people’s love for their club and willingness to help is being embraced and appreciated by the Club.
Hand rails have been installed on the steps up to the turnstiles and Sports Bar with the decking in that area also being treated to protect it and improve its appearance.
New light fittings were purchased which enabled the lights in the toilets to be repaired at long last.
One of our volunteers has taken up the mantle of recycling co-ordinator and is helping the staff to recycle materials (aluminium cans, bottles etc.) as efficiently as possible.
The apex above the Corporate Lounge has also been treated to improve the look of the area and protect the wood.
Further litter picks were undertaken and, in the interest of safety, rubbish and items that had been stored under the stand were relocated.
On Tuesday, volunteers also helped with pre-match preparations around the Club prior to the York City game.
The Co-op have also been busy building a rapport with local businesses who may be able to help support our initiative moving forward.
The early signs have been encouraging with two businesses on the local industrial estate, ERF Electrical Wholesalers and Plantool Hire Centre, helping us with our recent requirements.
If you think your business could help us with materials or services we would love to hear from you.
At this moment in time we are keen to help repair the hot water supply to the dressing rooms, if there are any plumbers out there who can help we would be most grateful.
In return for your help the Supporters’ Co-op and the Club will publicise your company on both of our websites and social media accounts when we issue these updates.
Please contact Mike Turner on 07854 175522 if you feel you can assist in any way.
New volunteers are always assured of a warm welcome with work parties taking place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s (9.30am to 12.30pm).
If you would like to help make a difference please either contact Mike on the number above or simply turn up on the day.
